-- When do I get my Tintypes?
You will not leave the studio with your Tintype. The plates need to be thoroughly washed, dried, varnished, engraved, and scanned, which generally takes a day or two. If you are out of town we can set up a meet, or it can be mailed to you for $5 s&h.
--Whats included in your session purchase?
We offer 4 different size options, including 2x3, 4x5, 5x7 and 8x10, and also a gift certificate option.
--What about dogs and children?
Pets and kids are a tough one. When you pay for a plate, you're paying for that one plate. Young children and pets can be a challenge in this process. Not impossible, but this process is slower than a digital photo session and if they move it could mean the difference between a successful photo or not.
--What to wear?
This process shoots a positive image so if you have on any words or a logo, it will read backwards. Patterns, and textures look great, but so do solid colors. Red and green colors will appear a little darker in the wet plate process, while blue's can go lighter.
--Can I wear glasses?
These plates can only see UV light, so if you wear glasses with a UV coating there is a chance they could come out looking like a lighter version of sunglasses. Not much I can do to control that but we could pop out the lenses for the photo if they are a signature part of your look.
-Can I use the photo on my album cover?
Yes, BUT, you will need to license the image for an additional fee. Glad to talk about it!
-Do I do events?
Yes, tintypes are a fun add-0n at weddings, family gatherings, anniversaries, parties etc. The location must have power and preferably running water. Keep in mind each plate takes about 15 minutes so can't guarantee every guest depending on how many you may have on hand.
--How do I book a session?
Right now, the best way to book a session is to email me, at [email protected] . I am working by appointment only right now as I have a day job to juggle.
